How to generate an estimate and invoice
The video below shows how you can generate an Estimate and Invoice for a 'time and materials' business following these steps:
- First set up a 'Task' called 'Labour (per hour)'
- Next set up an 'Item' for each chargeable material. (You can add your time and materials adhoc to your order, but this way is quicker in the long run)
- All set up. Create a new Order (You can call this a 'Job' or whatever you like. Change the name in Prefs)
- Create a new contact or choose an existing one
- Select your 'labour' item and materials to be used (You can set fractions or multiples of an hour)
- Calculate the total and generate the estimate (Print and / or save as pdf)
- Got the job! Convert to an Order
- Generate the invoice when appropriate (and mark as sent)
- And generate the invoice when appropriate
- Later - easily see who hasn't yet paid
